ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS • AUSTIN, TX
A warning light.
A clear next step.
A check engine light is a reason to investigate. Arboretum Auto Service helps identify the cause of warning lights and drivability concerns before recommending repairs.
READING A CODE IS THE START
Testing helps find the cause.
A diagnostic trouble code points toward a system or condition. It does not automatically identify a part that needs replacement. We consider the symptoms, scan results, and appropriate testing to build a clearer diagnosis.
What brought you in?
Dashboard concerns
- Check engine light
- A warning light that returns
- Unexplained changes in fuel economy
Driving concerns
- Rough running or hesitation
- Difficulty starting
- Stalling or a loss of power
Tell us when the concern occurs, whether it is intermittent, and what has recently changed. Those details help guide the diagnostic process.
OUR DIAGNOSTIC APPROACH
Understand it before repairing it.
01 / Review the symptoms
We discuss what you have noticed and review relevant vehicle history.

03 / Explain the findings
We discuss the recommended repair or next diagnostic step and estimate before you approve work.
If the vehicle feels unsafe to drive
If a warning appears alongside severe shaking, a major loss of power, overheating, or another serious change, stop when safe and arrange assistance. Call us to discuss the symptoms.
Starting trouble?
Battery, starter, and charging-system concerns can also affect vehicle operation.
Diagnostics questions.
A code helps direct the investigation. Testing and vehicle-specific information are often needed to confirm the cause.
